چکیده

Introduction The aim of the present study was to assess generation laser-activated irrigation (LAI) with a 9,300-nm CO 2 laser, 455- and 970-nm diode laser as well an 810- 980-nm without carbon-coated “hot-tips” for improved in endodontics. Therefore, formation cavitation bubbles at tip-ends different liquids evaluated compared traditionally applied Er:YAG laser. Methods power settings repetition rate 14 Hz, SIROLASE each wavelength 10% Duty Cycle, WISER both wavelengths wavelengths. LAI videotaped high-speed camera. To measure streaming velocity due cavitation, all lasers were loosely coated carbon particles activated pure water. Then, LAI, moving same camera set-up. determine velocities, movement one particle tracked help measuring tool ImageJP software velocities calculated. Results With devices four wavelengths, it only possible introduce clear low-power parameters (180 mW 200 average laser), black coating tips. produced tested parameters. Consequently, liquid, decreasing increasing distances from tip: 6.4 m/s, up 5 range 0.01–0.09 m/s. LIA generated high similar velocities. significantly lower

Dental lasers: possibilities and benefits.

Journal of the Massachusetts Dental Society It is surprising to realize that laser use in dentistry dates back to Dr. Leon Goldman’s initial experiments on dental caries in 1964. For when the topic comes up in conversation among dentists today, the response is typically, “They are still too new,” or “I’m going to wait.” During the past 40 years, dental lasers have slowly been making headway int...

Laser-induced cavitation based micropump.

Lab-on-a-chip devices are in strong demand as versatile and robust pumping techniques. Here, we present a cavitation based technique, which is able to pump a volume of 4000 microm3 within 75 micros against an estimated pressure head of 3 bar. The single cavitation event is created by focusing a laser pulse in a conventional PDMS microfluidic chip close to the channel opening. High-speed photogr...

Nonspherical laser-induced cavitation bubbles.

The generation of arbitrarily shaped nonspherical laser-induced cavitation bubbles is demonstrated with a optical technique. The nonspherical bubbles are formed using laser intensity patterns shaped by a spatial light modulator using linear absorption inside a liquid gap with a thickness of 40 microm. In particular we demonstrate the dynamics of elliptic, toroidal, square, and V-shaped bubbles....

Insight in the Chemistry of Laser-Activated Dental Bleaching

The use of optical radiation for the activation of bleaching products has not yet been completely elucidated. Laser light is suggested to enhance the oxidizing effect of hydrogen peroxide. Different methods of enhancing hydrogen peroxide based bleaching are possible. They can be classified into six groups: alkaline pH environment, thermal enhancement and photothermal effect, photooxidation effe...
